My interests are in local and family history

I have put here a collection of odd bits and pieces that I have found and interested me. If you find anything you like you are welcome to take a copy; if you re-use it it would be polite to credit me!

One line of my ancestors comes from the village of Balsham in Cambridgeshire, and I have written up my family history here.

I live near Royston, a group of houses called Noons Folly, on the border of Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, and I have made a study of some aspects of the area's history. There was a family history society based in Royston, but in view of the declining membership the society closed. I have retained here online copies of some of the articles which apeared in the journal.

I have family from the London area and am interested in London history. There is a group Archives for London which holds regular seminars (usually on the first Thurdsay of the month, at the London Metropolitan Achives in Clerkenwell) with speakers looking at London archives. Their web site is here, and you will find pdf copies of their newsletter, which I edit, here. In some cases I have more information than I can accommodate in the newsletter, and I have put fuller items on this site with an index here.
